2006 Cabernet Sauvignon

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon

Nicely weighted fruit characters of violet and raspberry can be seen, with some finely balanced French oak. With soft tannins and beautifully balanced acid, the finish is nice and clean.

This classy Margaret River Cabernet will only get better with age. Cooler climate red berries and chocolate will make for great drinking as a young wine.  But, to get the most out of this wine, put it away for 3-5 years to allow greater intensity and complexity in the flavours to develop.

One of the standouts from the 2006 vintage, this Merlot displays fresh mulberry with hints of chocolate and some well integrated French oak. Cedar and cigar notes linger further on the nose.

There is richness on the palate and lovely fruit cake flavours with a touch of acid to give the wine a nice clean, fresh finish. The lingering fresh fruit flavours of red berries and plums are masterfully balanced with silky soft tannins to produce a lovely drinking wine.

Raspberry and black cherry on the nose give way to cedar and cigar notes with a hint of violets.

As the sweet, red fruit rolls across the tip of the tongue, the lovely, intense red berries, plums and rhubarb are masterfully balanced with the silky tannins that can also be tasted within these layers of flavour.

2006 Calamus Red

2006 Calamus Red (Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot)

The nose is quite intense and full, with some spice and mint on top of a delectable mixture of chocolate, raspberry and dark cherries.

The palate is soft and round with a nice richness to it, aided by the addition of Merlot to the Cabernet, showing flavours of dark fruits along with some beautiful Margaret River spice.

As a young, fresh, easy drinking wine, the style is lighter but still full of flavours and silky tannins to make this wine a classic Margaret River blend. Perfect for sharing with family and friends over a casual meal.

2007 Chardonnay

2007 Chardonnay

An excellent example of southern Margaret River chardonnay where peaches and dried pears abound on the nose, with integrated oak and a great intensity, richness and depth.

The elegance of this Chardonnay shines through with superb fruit weight, yet delicate on the palate. The wine shows optimal use of new and used French oak barriques which enhance rather than dominate the beautiful peach and pear flavours. The wine has a magnificent richness in the middle palate with nice length.
